To Create

Creation doesn’t begin with thought, but somewhere deeper — in a place without words, where something starts to move. What is born is not meant to be beautiful or understood, but because it must come into being. As a young adult, I experienced intense inner processes — vivid visions and long sequences of deep realization. Out of that silence, a calling began to form, like a pressure from within. Thoughts kept returning, dreams insisted on being remembered. Something in me carried a message that wanted to find its way out. The journey was demanding, filled with change. My art stood still, then transformed. I sought new forms of expression, fell and rose again, over and over. Through pen and ink, through endless drawings, a new identity began to take shape — a clearer awareness of who I was, and a universe of stories that wanted to be told. It was a force connected to understanding — the human, the personal, the collective. A search for authenticity, for the dignity that lives in every being. A longing to give form to the languageless — what breathes deep in the core of who I am. Over time, this inner journey became intertwined with my teaching. I wanted to create a space where art and self-knowledge could grow together. That became Living Workshop, which after ten years evolved into Nydalen Art School – A Living Workshop. Through it all, drawing has followed me — as presence, as practice, as a living dialogue with what moves inside. To create is not to control life, but to stay close enough for life to take shape through me. Each work bears traces of my journey — loss and longing, light and shadow. I don’t create to be seen. I create to be true — to let what lives in me find its way into the world.
