ARTIST EVA KURSETH - I AM NATURE
Moutmarka (a protected nature reserve in Vestfold) With its dark coastal rocks, colorful stones, blooming meadows, and freshwater ponds alive with birds and grazing animals, Moutmarka is a landscape that shapes both my thoughts and my art. The tides bring endless transformations — low tide reveals pools large and small, shimmering with algae in astonishing colors and patterns. The bedrock tells its own ancient story, carved by time and ice. Glacial boulders rest like silent witnesses to the ages. The light from the vast sea, together with the swiftly changing weather, creates an infinite play of forms and moods — a living rhythm of reflection and renewal. When the air is still and the light is soft, the atmosphere becomes profoundly contemplative. The contrast to Vestfold’s long beaches is striking. At Ringshaugstranda, the wide sands and the rolling sea echo the passage of time, offering a gentle reminder of the greater ocean we are part of. Through my images, I wish to share impressions from these majestic coastal landscapes — the presence, the energy, and the quiet resonance that make the shore feel alive.
