ARTIST EVA KURSETH - I AM NATURE
I have always experienced abstract art as a living study of meaning and feeling - both through my work with photo, painting and in art teaching. Nature can appear in lines, surfaces and colors in a way that is not bound to the specific subject in the image. I will invite you into this experience, where colors and lines communicate with your whole sensory device. For me, the opinion of the image is not in the subject itself, but in the energy and intention that bears the image. Therefore, it never just becomes a visual experience, but also a spiritual - a language that points to reflection, tranquility and connection. Throughout history, abstract art has been a language for everything that cannot be fully grabbed by words. When I look back in the early 1900s, I am inspired by artists like Kandinsky and Malevich. Kandinsky described the colors as music - which could hit the soul directly. Malevich, with his white surfaces on white, sought the boundless, a void that at the same time continued an infinity. These artists broke with traditional images of nature and people, but did not do it to tear down - they opened themselves to a new way of looking and feeling. I recognize myself in this quest. For me, the abstract is about moving beyond the visible, into a room where form, rhythm and color are a more universal language - a language that points to harmony, spirituality and a deeper resonance with the world around us.
